Owasso High School senior Trinity Scott has built her reputation on hard work, consistency and a team-first mindset that extends beyond the softball field.
Scott, who primarily plays in the outfield but is comfortable “everywhere,” credits her parents as her biggest inspiration. “My parents inspire me to be as hard working and loving as they are,” she said. On the field, she looks up to former teammate Katelynn Knight, whom she describes as “extremely hard working as well as one of the best teammates I’ve ever had.”
As she prepares for her final season, Scott reflects on what has shaped her both academically and athletically. She cites English as her favorite subject and names Mrs. Duncan as her most influential teacher during her junior year.
Scott embraces the lighter side of the game as well. Her favorite unwritten rule is simple: “Always being loud and obnoxious.” That energy carries into the team dynamic, where she values the relationships built beyond competition. “What I enjoy most … is the family outside of softball,” she said. “We’re all friends as well as teammates.”
That chemistry shows in the dugout. Scott points to Evie Tutskey as the team’s most vocal presence, while Aubrey Arias “keeps everyone laughing.” Even in practice, she said, the group balances focus with fun. “We all keep each other laughing, joking and playing around till it’s time to play,” Scott said. “I love that everyone is so different, but we all work hard for the same goals.”
Her approach to the game is rooted in discipline. “I have learned to do the hard things first and no one is going to push you as hard as you push yourself,” she said.
At the plate, Scott follows a consistent mental routine. While on deck, she reminds herself to keep her hands up and use the opposite field. Once in the batter’s box, she assesses the defense before clearing her mind completely as the pitch is delivered.
Even from the outfield, Scott stays engaged, noting that one of her biggest challenges is making sure her voice carries to her pitchers.
Away from softball, she enjoys fishing with friends and “getting a sweet treat,” keeping a balance that fuels her performance and perspective.
