Owasso Rams
Head Coach: Bill Blankenship
2020 Record: 12-1
Defense
The Rams’ defense has some players to replace after graduation but there are some returning from last year’s squad that gave up just 14 points per game. Michael Jamerson (6-2, 295, Sr.) and Tyler Rich (6-3, 285, Jr.) will be back to cause opposing offenses problems on the front line. Last year they combined for 48 tackles and six sacks. Those numbers are expected to increase this season. Playing at outside linebacker will be Jacob Clifton (6-3, 205, Sr), who registered fifty total tackles last season and also added a sack. Clifton is receiving a ton of attention from Division I schools. Defensive backs Cody Chase (5-10, 175, Sr.) and Brandon Ramsey Jr (6-1, 190, Sr.) are both coming off of solid years last year and will be looking to expand this year. Chase ended last season with 30 solo tackles and 41 assisted tackles. They also caused two fumbles, had two fumble recoveries, and one interception a year ago. In typical fashion, the Rams will field one of the more athletic defenses in the class. Look for the secondary to be one of the best in 6A as the defensive line looks to dominate and line of scrimmage with one of the highest recruits in the state, Chris McClellan (6-4, 290, Sr.). McClellan comes to Owasso with multiple offers including Nebraska, Ole Miss, Florida, Oregon, Texas A&M, Auburn, LSU, Baylor, Arkansas, Tulsa and Oklahoma State with more on the way.
