Currently ranked in the top 10 of Class 6A volleyball, the Owasso Rams are off to a nice start and senior Rylee Martin has played a big role in that success. But if you ask her, she will say it’s a team effort and no one player is responsible.
“It’s been a fun and successful season so far,” Martin said. “The team is working together well, which pays off on the court. I really enjoy playing a 5-1 rotation and getting to help lead. We have a very young with talented front line of hitters. I have the opportunity to see them get better every day.”
As a captain, Martin knows it is important for her and the other seniors to leave a legacy behind for others to follow. Martin said her teammates are some of her best friends.
“We always have so much fun together. This team is very supportive of each other,” said Martin.
Away from the court, Martin said she really enjoys her leadership class, which is taught by her favorite teacher.
“My favorite subject is leadership. My teachers name is Mr. Poteete. I love how I can relate and apply the skills we learn in my life,” said Martin.
