Owasso High School junior Brooklyn Garafola is a member of the varsity cross country team. Garafola said she loves being part of the team and her teammates.
“My teammates are my best friends, so getting to spend four-plus hours with them six to seven days a week is amazing. All of my teammates, as well as my coaches, are extremely encouraging, and are always pushing us to be tough, and positive,” said Garafola. “What I love most about being on the cross country team is the environment that we as a team have created. it’s fun, exciting, and encouraging.”
Garafola said her mother has been a big influence on her throughout her life.
“My mom is the biggest influence in my life. She encourages me to keep pushing even when it’s tough. She is the strongest woman I know, and consistently leads me to be the same,” said Garafola.
Away from school, Garafola said she spends some of her time singing at a music studio.
