Ahren Lamb is a senior on the Owasso Rams swim team. This will be his fourth year swimming and he says that he enjoys the sport but there is more to being a successful swimmer than just knowing how to swim.

“You have to spend a lot of time swimming and working out,” he said. “You also have to get up early for practice. While it may be tough some days, in the end, the work will all pay off.”

Along with being a member of the swim team, Lamb is also a part of the track and cross country teams at Owasso High School. 

Throughout his career, Ahren has had a lot of people there to support him and be a positive influence on his life. Out of all of them, he says that there is one person that has made the biggest impact. 

“My grandma is definitely the biggest influence on my life,” he said. “She is always cheering me on and she has helped me become the person that I am today. Another person that has played a big part in my life would have to be Tammy Wood. She taught me how to swim and helped me learn how to follow directions. I would not be where I am without these two ladies.”

Owasso swim coach, Jenn Rudeen, says that Lamb is a great kid and an outstanding swimmer. 

“Ahren is an incredibly hard worker,” she said. “He is one of the seniors on this year’s team and he is a great swimmer.”

Throughout his career, Lamb has made some great memories both in and out of the pool with his teammates. One moment last season would have to be the top moment of his career.

“The highlight of my career is an easy choice,” he said. “Last year, our guy’s team broke the school record. It was a great feeling knowing that our work had paid off.”

Away from swimming, Ahren is also a member of the student council and the senior board.
