Head coach for the Owasso boys and girls tennis teams, Bill Baysinger, started coaching tennis in 2016.
“My favorite part of coaching is seeing student athletes work hard and then achieve success,” said coach Baysinger.
Not only does coach Baysinger get to help kids on the tennis court, but he also helps them succeed in the classroom. Baysinger teaches math at the Owasso Eighth Grade Center.
“I work with a great group of math professionals who collaborate daily on putting the best curriculum in place for our students,” said Baysinger. “One of my assistant coaches, Morgan Brewer, also works with me and it has been nice to discuss ideas and topics even when we are away from school.”
Baysinger hopes that he not only can help his student-athletes while they are in school, but once they leave him as well.
“Once these athletes are no longer with me, I hope that they have learned that visualizing a goal and working hard to achieve it needs to be a way of life,” said Baysinger. “Create solid work habits and you can succeed at anything.”
When Baysinger is not busy in the classroom or on the court he enjoys spending his free time with his wife, five amazing kids, and his grandkids.
“We are having a great season,” said Coach Baysinger. “We graduated four senior girls so lots of new faces in the program. We had a vision that the two returning varsity players could lead our rookies to a successful season and a trip to state for everyone. Mission accomplished!”
