Owasso High School varsity volleyball player Madi Hill brings energy, consistency and a team-first attitude to the Lady Rams’ lineup.

Hill said volleyball has become more than a sport for her. It has given her an opportunity to build relationships, grow through competition and represent her school alongside teammates who share the same goals.

“I love the environment and the people I get to be around every day,” Hill said. “Volleyball has taught me how important it is to trust the people around you and work hard for each other.”

That trust is especially important during the demanding moments of a match. Volleyball requires players to communicate quickly, recover after mistakes and stay focused through every set. Hill embraces that challenge and looks for ways to support her teammates, whether she is making a play or encouraging someone from the sideline.

“I think the biggest thing is staying positive,” Hill said. “Everyone makes mistakes, but you have to move on and keep encouraging each other because the next point is always important.”

Playing varsity volleyball also has helped Hill understand the value of preparation. Practices, conditioning and game-day routines all contribute to a team’s success, and Hill recognizes that improvement comes from putting in work long before the opening serve.

“The work we do in practice shows up in games,” Hill said. “When everyone is focused and giving effort, it makes us better as a team.”

For Hill, representing Owasso is a source of pride. She appreciates the support surrounding the program and the chance to compete for the Lady Rams.

“It means a lot to wear Owasso across my chest,” Hill said. “I am thankful for my coaches, teammates and family because they have helped me get to where I am.”

As the season continues, Hill hopes to help Owasso compete at a high level while making the most of each opportunity with her teammates.
