When you’re 15-years-old, walking onto a softball field as an upperclassman at Owasso High School can be intimidating, but sophomore Addison Harmon isn’t letting that faze her.
“Owasso is definitely a big stage for softball in Oklahoma,” Harmon said. “I think I was able to get a lot of my nerves worked out last year as a freshman on varsity. I have learned that staying confident is the key in controlling my nerves. Especially at the plate. The senior girls do a great job of providing that extra bit of leadership on field and in the dugout. They have all been in big game situations many times before and are able to calm everyone down to play at our best.”
Harmon said her second season as a catcher and utility player for the Rams is going great so far.
“We had a great season last year and had some big shoes to fill,” she said. “We lost several seniors from last year who played important roles for the team. We have had a couple of freshmen come in this year and immediately make an impact on the game. All of the girls get along great, and I could not ask for a better group of girls to be my teammates, this group really feels like a family.”
In her free time, Harmon said she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, especially to Hawaii, and going to Oklahoma State University football games in Stillwater.
