Owasso’s Kynlie Wilson – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Tulsa Tech

Kynlie Wilson is a junior at Owasso High School while also attending the Owasso campus of Tulsa Tech. She is enrolled in the Health Science Technologies program and says that it is helping her get ready for her future.

“I chose the Health Science Technologies program because I want to be an athletic or physical trainer,” Wilson said. “With the HST program, there are many pathways you can take. You get a feel for many different jobs and opportunities.”

She first heard about Tulsa Tech from her aunt, who works at the Lemley campus. With the great experience that she has had, Wilson says that Tulsa Tech is a great place to get a headstart on a career.

“I would definitely recommend Tulsa Tech to anyone that is considering it,” she said. “They offer a wide variety of programs and the instructors do a great job of helping you learn the subject.”

At Owasso, Wilson is a dual-sport athlete for the Rams, playing basketball and soccer. She says that she has some great memories while playing sports but there are a few that she sees as her favorites.

“My highlight moment would have to be beating Bixby 4-1 during my sophomore season,” she said. “And scoring a goal, that is the best feeling ever.”

Sam Bowers is the head coach of the Lady Rams soccer team and says that Kynlie is a great kid that excels on the soccer field.

“Kynlie will be a three-year starter and everything will run through her in them middle of the field,” Bowers said. “She is like the quarterback of our team. She has outstanding ball skills and understands how to read a game, very smart player who is also a pretty good athlete.

She also plays basketball for the Lady Rams. She just committed to Oklahoma State to play soccer. She is only a junior but for us to have a good year, she will have to guide us.”
