OFFENSE
As one era comes to an end, another begins. Head coach Antonio Graham takes the reigns of the Owasso football program that brings high expectations and a challenging schedule. “I’m excited for this upcoming season. We have a great group of seniors, 45 total. We have to be the hardest working team, the smartest team, and the toughest team. If we can put all three of those together, we will be just fine. We have to trust the process and take one day at a time,” said Graham. The offensive line is a strength for the Rams entering the new season. Blake Cherry (6-6, 290, Sr.) and Ryker Haff (6-6, 305, Sr.) are two DI tackles and immovable forces up front. Add Blake Novotny (6-4, 290, Sr.) at guard and you have one of, if not the best offensive line in Class 6A. Finding a quarterback for the spread offense was the priority entering spring ball. Returning wide receiver Drew Hogan (6-1, 185, Sr.) made 23 receptions for 275 yards and three TDs last year. Hogan is a three-year starter for the Rams. Noah Hill (5-9, 175, Jr.) is another wide receiver who can stretch the field in the up-tempo offense. Hill is a VYPE Top 100 selectee. Jayden Hall (5-10, 205, Jr.) starts at running back giving the Rams a true threat to take one to the house. Hall’s play will help set up the passing game. Drew Frankenfield is competing for the QB job and could be the starter for week one.
DEFENSE
Looks for the Rams to base in a 4-2-5 and play a physical brand of football, while playing smart and disciplined. Carter Langenderfer (6-2, 190, Jr.) starts at free safety where his speed and physicality are on display. Langenderfer is a cover guy who can step up and stop the run. Reece Satterwhite (6-2, 275, Sr.) is a terror at defensive end. Opposing offenses will account for Satterwhite on every play. A trio of linebackers will help set the tone for the Rams. Hudson Hodge (6-0, 205, Sr.), Tariek Jognson (6-0, 205, Sr.), and Ashton Smith (6-3, 210, Sr.) are sideline-to-sideline guys who fly around the field making plays. The emotional leader of the team may be Eric Harris (6-0, 185, Sr.). The senior has worked hard to be one of the top defensive backs in the class and plays the game with passion. Harris is a straight-A student and someone the coaching staff has full confidence in on or off the field. Also look for Cole Campbell, Jaxson Duffield, and Cason Adcock to contribute to the overall success of the team this season. The coaching staff includes Jacques Washington, Zach Simmonds, Justin Morsey, Justin Ratcliff, Josh Dupree, Charles Granger, Asa Poteete, Tim Beachman, Justin Beachman, Brad Calip, Derrick Luetjen, Jerrod Hart, and Darnell Walker.
