Prodigy Softball – Trinity Scott – Owasso HS
Sports like basketball and soccer have club teams that many high school student-athlete participate with when their school team is not playing. The same can be said for softball.
Owasso High School’s Trinity Scott is a member of the varsity softball team at OHS and a member of the Prodigy team that plays a competitive schedule in the offseason. Scott is only a sophomore, but she started playing softball when she was six years old.
Playing for the club team has helped Scott develop her skill set and continually improve as a player.
“For prodigy I am playing mainly short center and a little catcher,” Scott said. “My best skill set is my ability to play anywhere I am put and play it soundly. I have improved on my hitting game; I’ve started seeing the ball better and hitting for more power. Playing for Prodigy I’ve improved my understanding of how to teach and be thought in different ways.”
There are many things Scott said she enjoys about being part of the Prodigy team. One is the team/family dynamic.
“Prodigy is a great team to play for because of the family dynamics,” Scott said. “The thing I’ve enjoyed most about playing for prodigy is I not only have a team I have a family that I can depend on even outside of softball. The things I love most about my teammates is they always celebrate the little wins for everyone around them.”
Scott said she finds inspiration in her father.
“My biggest inspiration is my dad he shows me it’s okay to make mistakes but it’s never okay to give up, he showed me tough love is through softball but also how to be compassionate with myself. My dad has shown what it means to work hard and get results. My dad is my absolute best friend, the best coach I’ve ever had, but most of all he is the best dad I could ask for,” said Scott.
