VYPE: Alexia, how long have you competed in swimming?
Sang: I have been involved in competitive swimming for seven years. I swam club through
USA Swimming at Swim Tulsa for four years. In eighth grade, I took a year off due to an
injury, and then joined the high school swim team my freshmen year. 
VYPE: What events do you compete in?
Sang: Individually I swim the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke. I also anchor both the
200 Medley and the 200 Free Relays. 
VYPE: You have one more year of high school left, what other things are you involved
in at Owasso High School?
Sang: I do not play any other sports, but I am a Chapter Officer for Owasso FFA and I
compete in public speaking through FFA, I am also an editor for the Rampage (the school
newspaper), and I am in National Honor Society. 
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Sang: My plans are still undecided on where I am going, but I am currently looking at
swimming in college and exploring many out-of-state universities with swim programs. A
goal of mine is to someday be a part-time swim coach along with another career that is
undecided. 
VYPE: What have you enjoyed most about being a student-athlete at Owasso?
Sang: What I enjoy most about being an athlete for Owasso is my team. Not only do I have
two of the best coaches who push me to be better both in and out of the pool, but I have a
team full of amazing people that have made these last three years of my life on this team
amazing. Every day my teammates make me laugh and my favorite memories are the ones I have with my team. They’ve made me a better athlete by pushing me to work harder every day, and they’ve made me a better person and leader as I strive to be a better teammate and give back to them everything they’ve given me. 
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life, in or out of the pool?
Sang: My family has been my biggest influence. I wouldn’t be where I am today with the
work ethic and leadership qualities my parents instilled in me at a young age. They are at
every swim meet, and my biggest fans. Even my younger sister Bella is an influence; she is
also a swimmer and will one day be on the Owasso swim team, so that pushes me every day to create a good legacy and leave this team at least a little better than I found it for her. 
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Sang: In my free time I love getting to spend time outside of practice with the amazing
friends I’ve found on my team. I also love doing anything creative like writing, sketching, or
photography in my free time.
