Owasso enters the 2026 season coming off a 10-3 campaign and a state runner-up finish, setting a high bar for what the Rams expect to accomplish this fall. Veteran head coach Bill Blankenship leads a large staff that includes offensive coordinator Josh Blankenship, co-offensive coordinator Justin Pruitt and multiple defensive specialists, giving the program a strong foundation of experience and continuity. With a proven core of offensive and defensive playmakers returning, Owasso aims to stay in the championship conversation while maintaining the physical and disciplined style that has defined the Rams in recent years.
Offensively, quarterback Drew Frankenfield (6-2, 205, Sr.) brings extensive experience after totaling 5,679 passing yards and 60 touchdown passes in his career. He will again have a reliable target in receiver Colby Whiteman (6-2, 185, Sr.), who hauled in 306 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a junior. Up front, the Rams boast size and leadership with senior offensive linemen Hunter Goodenow (6-5, 290), Shawn Kellogg (6-3, 315) and Nick Rosas (6-1, 270), a trio that helps anchor the offense and keep Frankenfield upright. Barrett Blankenship (6-5, 275, Jr.) adds another large presence in the trenches as he continues to develop. With that combination of a seasoned quarterback, productive receiver and powerful offensive line, Owasso is well positioned to continue producing big numbers and balanced offense.
On defense, the Rams feature an experienced secondary and linebacker group that has proven it can make plays. Defensive back Peyton LeGrand (5-10, 170, Sr.) is a key piece after totaling 133 tackles, four tackles for loss and three interceptions over the last two seasons. Fellow senior defensive back Cole Campbell (6-0, 180) adds another veteran presence with 82 tackles and six interceptions across 2024 and 2025. Junior defensive back Jaxon Sugg (5-10, 170) contributed 48 tackles and one interception during that span, while senior linebacker Joey Grabeal (6-0, 180) recorded 51 tackles as a part-time starter. In addition, junior defensive back Julian Carson (5-9, 165) and kicker Juan Razo (5-11, 170, Sr.) round out a group that impacts the game in multiple ways, with Razo converting 59 of 60 PATs and nine of 12 field goals, including a 44-yarder. With punter Malakai Thomas (6-3, 180, Jr.) averaging 38.6 yards per punt, Owasso’s special teams are another strength that can tilt field position.
